Introduction:
A process documentation of nature itself—without synthetic dyes.
EcoPrints reveal the chemical compositions of plants: tannins, chlorophyll, and natural pigments that inscribe themselves into fibers through fermentation, heat, and time.
This series is an instruction, a transmission of knowledge—proof that nature provides everything we need.
Concept & Technique:
In this ongoing material study, I document the infinite diversity of natural dyeing. Alum fixes, iron intensifies, vinegar transforms—natural chemistry binding color to silk, linen, and cotton. No two prints are identical; the variations represent the authenticity of biological processes rather than mistakes.
The photographic documentation on natural structures (wood, stone, sand) highlights both the contrast and the unity: everything emerges from the same source. It is about sustainability and learning from natural cycles, moving away from the synthetic dye industry.
