Introduction:
Transformation begins with deception. A forsythia bursts from the face—radiant yellow, promising hope. But is it organic growth or a mask? This work questions the boundary between the authentic self and the curated façade we present in the digital age.
Concept:
In an era of constant self-optimization, we become performers of our own lives, hiding the ugly and uncomfortable. Through digital manipulation and staged photography, I create a space of ambivalence: The image appears warm and beautiful, yet the flowers overgrow the identity, almost suffocating it. It visualizes the pressure to be “happy”—a beautiful but oppressive metamorphosis.
