Fear of Hope – Conceptual Photography / Selfportrait

Fear of Hope

Introduction:
The fear of hope. Often, the thought of improvement is more terrifying than remaining in pain. This portrait captures the moment of hesitation—between darkness and light. It visualizes the fragility of a new beginning after a depressive episode.

Concept:
The work addresses the ambivalence of healing. Hope is risky because it makes disappointment possible. In the composition, I use light and shadow to depict this inner conflict. The body appears defenseless, exposed. It is a quiet but intense examination of mental health.
