BECOMING UNDONE – Sculptural

BECOMING UNDONE – Sculptural

Introduction:
A body unraveling. This sculptural work made of wire, paper, starch, and Kombucha scoby (bacterial cellulose) visualizes trauma as a physical process. The material appears skin-like, fragile, yet rigid. It captures the moment of “becoming undone”—when psychological pain erodes the outer shell.

Concept:
Becoming Undone explores the somatization of psychological states. How does it feel to lose composure? The use of organic materials (linen, bacterial cellulose) contrasting with the hard wire armature reflects the conflict between vulnerability and the attempt to maintain structure. The work operates at the intersection of sculpture, performance, and photography.
